Minor Snow: As Light Snowflakes Falling Down
Minor Snow❄, the 20th solar term of the year, begins on Nov. 22 and ends on Dec. 7 this year.
As indicated by the name, this period refers to the time when it gets colder and starts to snow, mostly in China’s northern areas. Due to the occurrence of "double-dip" La Niña, this winter might be extremely freezing. Therefore, it’s advisable to follow some tips to get you through winter such as wearing a hat or scarf when you go out and drinking more hot water.
In this special period, many areas have the customs of eating glutinous rice cake, making preserved pork and pickled vegetables, which are easy to keep in the harsh winter and can add some special flavor to the winter time.
Many first year CCNUers have never experienced a snowy winter, and we are all waiting expectantly for the first snow❄. While being excited, do not forget to dress warm in the cold!
